It’s never too soon to speak with an attorney after you’ve been injured to make sure that your legal rights are protected.  It’s a good idea to have an attorney review the documents that the insurance company filed with the Department of Labor to be sure that all of your injuries have been legally accepted and are described correctly and that you are being paid correctly.

Just because you are receiving a check does not mean that all of your legal rights are protected. The workers’ compensation system is complex.  It can become difficult for injured workers to handle their case on their own, especially as claims get older and the interests of the injured worker and the insurance company begin to diverge. The insurance company may deny or delay medical treatment or may attempt to reduce or discontinue your benefits.

The typical injured worker does not know the law whereas insurance companies know the workers’ compensation system very well. I will educate you about your rights and obligations under the law, as well as those of the insurance company, and take whatever action is necessary to protect your rights and keep you from any problems that may arise with the insurance company.

I don’t charge any fee unless your case settles so it is good sense to have an attorney on your side to protect your rights.
